Though you cannot feed the birds in a meet and greet type setting, the aviary is a walk through where you are not separated from the birds. When you are inside the building, the birds can walk right up to you. You are not permitted to feed them or touch them. The birds could be directly in front of you eating, though.

Great answer Denise! The bird aviary is a gem, maybe the best part of the zoo. You can get great up_close pictures of the birds. It's a nice retreat on a hot summer day, too.
