How many states are now included in the competition? Florida and other states have lots of art completions with prizes. I counted 8 states. Wasn't it to incourage local art?

Artfields receives entries from 12 states (and I've counted all 12 as present this year). It's true that some states seem to have a high number of entrants while others not so much, but the opportunity is open to all. As AF's reputation has grown, I've noticed that some states have increased their representation. E.g., a few years ago I only recall one entry from West Virginia, whereas this year I've seen several. I'm always excited to see the diversity of artists represented and hope that it will continue to have a dynamic representation and impact from artists and art lovers who visit Lake City during this amazing week plus.

There are 12 states included in the 9 day art competition. It was created to help the local economy Lake City as we as provide an opportunity to showcase the vastly underrepresented artists of the Southeastern United States.
