The Concord NC resident who started it in the concird area stole the idea after eating at the Texas chain. The Texas chain sued for intelectural theft. They came to a mutual agreement that he could keep his existing stores but no new ones. After that they came to a mutual liking so maybe they are sharing.

The chain originally started in arlington texas around 1960. What a burger released an option to franchise. Their brand is essentially their menu. How an owner operator chooses to run the store such as advertising etc... Is completely up to them. There are no corporate stores in NC. Every store in NC is strictly owner operator and in this instance it is family owned.

Family owned from the early 1960's. In North Carolina. Nothing to do with the Tx. Chain.
They are family owned. Very good food. Office is in Cabarrus county North Carolina.
It is not the same franchise but it is a very old fashions type dine with great food.
