Probably nothing that you can do almost all USPS services have no guarantee, including tracking. Mail can get lost at points and then found again and continue the journey. Even if you had a tracking number, all that you or the people at the Edina post office could see is the last place that it was scanned. But that doesn't even mean that was the last place that it actually was. Also, if you had a tracking number AND insurance (if it has value), unless something like two weeks has passed, then they would still ask for you to wait a reasonable amount of time to see if it was just in one of the million black holes of the USPS. As long as you are not talking about an insured or guaranteed service, your best bet is to wait and see what happens for a couple of weeks. If you try to do anything else, then you are at risk of having your head explode out of frustration and still go home no better than you were before going to the Edina office.
Tracking is the easiest way to find your envelop, but it's better go or call edina postal and ask supervisor to help you
