Beautiful
Its not bad. The area is flat with a few small ups and downs from Blue Ridge Parkway until you go past the shelter and cross the stream. Then it starts uphill, but its not steep. From the parkway, it's about a 5 or so mile hike to the shelter.
Fairly easy, lots of switch backs.
