A Resident Pass is not required. Here is additional information: I ride with the Suffolk Bike Riders Association or solo to Smith Point on occasion. We don't pay for gas to ride there or park our bicycles. There IS a fee for cars; Military Veterans like myself are exempt. I encourage anyone who goes there Memorial Day, Independence Day, or Labor Day weekends to leave their cars at home, if possible. There is one way in and one way out from this barrier island unless you have a boat, jet ski, swim across the bay, walk over the bridge from Mastic Beach (where you park, then walk), or cycle there. You may be stuck in a parking lot for a long time (unless you leave before the mass exodus) and then endure the slow parade up William Floyd going home. You pay with your time and aggravation. For the average bike rider, put a bike rack on your vehicle, then ride anywhere from the Mastic-Shirley LIRR Station or from a closer point.
No and I agree with Joan!
No but there is a parking fee. If you have a green key pass, parking is less expensive
