Thanks for helping each other, friends! If your bill is not under $200, you can still apply, but need to show the social worker your other resources for paying the part that NeedLink can't, so we know you will be able to stay housed or connected. You can receive help up to one time in a 12-month period, and your rent must be income-based, because IBR tenants have demonstrated need and will have fewer options than others if evicted. Each week, about 1/3 of applicants are approved for assistance, but you are welcome to reapply if you are not selected. It's never personal - just a lack of available funding that requires us to make hard choices each week.
Do they help with move-in (security deposit).
Does need link help with Nes deposits
Yup. &For electric, the bill MUST be "Past due" already & be $200 or less. You'll need 2bring a recent copy of that past due bill w/you, along w/a legal form of ID. Also, you will need to go into their office in-person today or tomorrow (Before 3pm!) in order to fill out & submit your application for financial help. For rent assistance, I think you might need to be living in government-subsidized/Section 8 housing, but I'm not sure, so you'll have to just ask them while you're there. One last thing! You can only receive financial help from them once (up to but not over $200) every 2 years. Hope this helps!
