You do have to make your own arrangements. I was three hours from home, and one of the biggest issues I had was nailing down my release date. Nailing down a time of release from them was impossible. Makes it tough when you have someone picking you up and you don't live in the Atlanta area. My boyfriend had to arrange time off, etc., and then, after arriving, he waited four hours for my release. I know it's worse for many others - I can't imagine trying to arrange travel from there to Tennessee. I hope it worked out for you.
