I have not had this problem only because I always check the baging carousel.
I am a cashier there and when thing are left behind we are supposed to put it down immediately that a customer has left something behind
That is unacceptable. It's not the price of the gallon nor the milk itself that's the issue here. It's the complete lack of empathy and quality customer service that's the problem. The manager should have allowed you the replacement and dealt with the cashier privately on that matter. As the manager it is their duty to look out for the best interest of the company which includes taking care of the customers. The price of that milk is no comparison to the amount the company will loose from a regular shopper going elsewhere. Let's face the fact that if it weren't for the customers the business would fail! They definitely need better qualified and competent management.
One mistake is bad customer service? Jesus. I've never had an issue with the service here.
I have had a similar incident where a bag was left at the register. But this occurred right at the customer service/ checkout. The number of items is limited to 10. The cashier had to have seen the bag right in front of her. Slow as I walked out she could have said something. I have seen other cashiers run out the door to give a customer forgotten merchandise. When I called back. No sorry. Just an attitude like it was my fault. Needless to say they do have decent prices. But their customer service can use some improvement.
I have left things b4 i always call immediately and let the management know then return the next day with my receipt. I've had no problems there and save so much money what's the loss of a gallon of milk anyways.
I used to work there, except I was in the deli. Let's just say I only go to get my husband's cigarettes now. If it weren't for them I wouldn't go.
Did you make a call to speak with a manager and your receipt showing that you paid for the item
