Bloody diarrhea, usually starts with just diarrhea and progresses (often severe) Fever. Lethargy (lack of energy) Loss of appetite. Malaise (discomfort associated with illness) Rapid weight loss. Vomiting. These are the general signs and symptoms. If you think it is, i would highly suggest you get her to a vet ASAP. Parvovirus is lethal in most cases if not properly treated quickly.
Re: Symptoms and Survival Odds with Parvo Virus- Years ago, 1 day after he’d had his 2 of 3 rounds of puppy vaccinations, my then 3 mo. old Golden puppy suddenly began nonstop vomiting plus was lethargic. After 1 visit and mistaken diagnosis of a ‘puppy flu’, we rushed him back and his tests confirmed a ‘breakthrough’ case of Parvo, which was epidemic@that time and they hypothesized that another infected pet had come through our YARD, infecting our pup who’d not yet had time to build up his Parvo antibodies! They explained that most dogs who get Parvo die due to the symptoms; dehydration, high fever, etc., and they’d do their best: IV fluids continuously, IV anti-fever and anti-vomiting meds, too. Due to the then epidemic that vet hospital had already lost several pups to Parvo that week alone&were determined to do everything possible to save him! Our MAIN advantage was bringing him in ASAP and INSISTING that they do lab work vs. accept a ‘flu’ like diagnosis! He was home in 5 days!!
She is a chiwawa and she is less than a year old what's the chances of here surviving
Pretty much like the flu in humans. They will lay around not eat much and have constant diarrhea. Very sad and often fatal in dogs.
