Take E (weekdays 6a-7p), J, or Z (rush hr) to Archer/Suphtin and take AirTrain to JFK Terminals 1-9.
The AirTran is located at Sutphin Blvd one station away. As #ARIAS stated you can catch a bus to the AirTran or walk to the next station in addition to waiting for a bus outside the Jamaica ave station.
