Address: South St, Whitehall St, New York, 10004, USA

Like all stations on this line, Whitehall St station is relatively old and far from modern. From the sense of security on a scale from 1 to 10 (1 unsafe, 10 very safe) for us it felt like a 1. We were always happy when the subway arrived.

Has escalators almost till the end of you’re taking R/W to uptown or Brooklyn. Didn’t find any elevator but I cannot confirm if there isn’t any.

It's the final and stop of the W train and a transfer point for the 1 & R train. The Staten Island Ferry is above and adjacent to this station.

They'll probably have to work on building an elevator in Whitehall St and be in service at Jan 2022.
The ferry that docks at Whitehall Street is for only the Staten Island Ferry. It does not go anywhere near West 42nd Street.
Depends on which part of Times Square you were in. Staten Island Ferry take train 1. Battery Park take train R/W.
