It's a separate service, so you need a separate ticket. They can be bought thru an app, at the terminal, or on the ferry
Metro card is good for subway and buses, same card. You can switch also for free and that's called transfer.. subway to subway or bus to bus, only thing it has to be different line. Ferry is totally different, same price, 2.75 single ride but different card and monthly pass also is different.
