A coworker of mine attempted to surrender a feral cat to the Watertown Shelter and was told they would not accept cats. Is that true?

They take cats when availability allows. You must get the distemper shot first (10 dollars) and then take the cat back home for 2 weeks. At the end of that time they will accept your cat

They take cats, shots are required which they will give to them. Then a week later they usually take them unless they are full.

When surrendering a cat to the SPCA it is not immediate, first you bring the cat in and make a donation for the cats shots and then they put you on a waiting list and call you when they have an open pen. If the cat has already had its shots then they need to request to be put on a list to be called when there is a space available

They might have wanted the cat vaccinated before being put in the shelter or they might not have had room. Best thing to do is to call and ask.
