Because people arent perfect.
Because sometimes you end up not being the right person for the pet. Sometimes even if it's a good home it's not the right one for the animal and you want to give them a chance at a full happy experience even if it breaks your heart. I'm surrendering one of my cats and it hurts. But I am not the right human for him. He deserves the right human. He deserves the full experience of a perfect home for him. He's taken care of, fed, played with, groomed and has all the toys he could ever want. But I'm not the right one for him. He deserves the perfect bond that I can't give him.
Because people like me take in someone else's guinea pigs to be nice and it turns out one is a male and one is a female and I now have 9 babies. I spend over 100 a week in bedding and food for two cages. Other than that I have no clue because dogs and cats are a pretty solid choice
