Is it possible to visit the gift shop without paying for museum admission? Or are gift shop items available online? I visited earlier this week and stayed in the exhibits until closing time but wanted to make some purchases.

Based on my experience and what I see online, you can only go into the gift shop if you've paid to visit the Museum. I don't see an option to purchase items via the website.
