4 to 6 seems best
We had 7 and we all worked well together and separately
Went with 4 we had a blast, I guess if you really want to win the more the better
I went with a group of 10
It depends on the room and experience of players. But on average I'd say 4-6 is a good size group that will give you the best chance of escaping.
6 adults. If going with kids, can be 8-10
6 is the best
The rooms are small, so I'd say 5-6 people are good. You want enough people who can look and solve clues but because the rooms are small you don't want too large a group.
I've had fun with a group of three experienced players. I'd say 4 to 6 is a good size though. You'll end up with a few random strangers, but sometimes that's helpful for puzzle solving.
