Hi Jerry! When workers are building mainline in your zone, this is just the first step of several before we can open your zone to sign ups. While those crews may have only had a few weeks of work left, there is still splicing and testing that comes after the build out. We have to build an entire zone before we can begin splicing, and splicing can take some time depending on the size of your zone. Once we splice each strand of fiber throughout your entire zone, we move to testing to ensure a solid connection throughout your zone before we open you up to service sign ups. Hang in there! We have crews working 7 days a week to get zones ready to get you and your neighbors connected!
I have the same question, but OEC won’t tell me when they’ll run the last 0.3 miles of fiber to get into our neighborhood. I’ve been calling for months, but no one can tell me the answer or return my call.
Thanks! Your answer is awaiting moderation.
Do we have to be an OEC power customer to receive internet? Or can OGE users purchase the service?
