A call beforehand is always a good idea, occasionally if they're completely swamped they'll close incoming for a few hours. Other than that, works just like a human ER, more critical cases get seen first, stable animals are seen in the order they arrive.

Came here with an emergency and we were turned away at the front door, they definitely do not know how to handle emergencies, stay away if you value your pets life!

This is an emergency veterinarian. They triage so if your pet is not in bad shape you will be pushed to the end of the line. If any animals come in after you and are in worse health then your pet they will be taken first.
