You can order ahead. The size of the order will determine how soon your food will be made. Most Chick-fil-A I've been to they tend to make it fresh and close to pickup time. No one wants soggy food. If you make the order via the mobile as many has suggested you should have a pretty silid experience.
Ive called ahead to order but they still don't make it until you pay for it so ask to pay over the phone or the only time you'll save is telling them what you want.
