Create a my Social Security account at www.ssa.gov and if you have a State issued drivers license can get SS card replaced online.

You can apply online all you need is a email address

You're allowed two free replacements per year to my knowledge. You can walk into the office or you can register on ssa.gov and order it online. Should be completely free. Hope this helps.
