What would you recommend to treat depression and anxiety..i take antidepressant but not enough been going through this 2 years dont want to try these harsh meds anymore..i heard it could be a gut issue. Any advice

A healthy gut is slightly acidic so every day it is a good idea to eat fermented foods like sauerkraut, pickles, miso, etc. Good gut bacteria eat insoluble fiber so eat bananas, broccoli, beans, corn meal, etc. Minimize your intake of sugar. It's not good for your gut or your weight.

Jennifer Simmons, have you tried St John's Wort? It's a natural treatment for depression that's been used in Europe for centuries. Valerian root is used for anxiety, similar to Valium but natural. I would talk to the folks at Lori's Natural Foods, in the Genesee Regional Market, regarding dosages & any other questions you have about this.
