Get a class A at Stevens and drive for them for a year and since they're located in DFW then you kill two birds with one stone. You will be able to live out of your truck and save money until you leave Stevens. Great move if you don't have children or a woman to hold you back. FYI while you're on the road get all your endorsements and your passport so that when you leave Stevens you can get a local job paying you WAY more money. Stevens is a great training school, so go through with it and take my advice.
If you are considering relocating to Texas, we would recommend waiting until you arrive to change your driver’s license. Before you begin your CDL Training, you will need to get CDL Training Permit. In order to do this, your driver’s license needs to be in the State where you are training. I would recommend contacting a Recruiter to go over the specific options for your training program. Coming from CA, you will have a couple of options including training in Texas or Colorado.
They will make you sign a contract to get your class A.
Stevens will help you get your class A, they also don't care where you currently reside.
I have a Class A. And will need a refresher course as it has been about 5 years since my last CDL job. Is there a company anyone would recommend on par with Steven's Transport for my situation or people w/o CDL training?
