Ive come here dozens of times and always got in the water. It is perfectly safe to me. But you will need to watch out for broken glass and coke/beer cans as the regulars do not clean after themselves
Little Cypress Creek has smaller tributaries as these creeks are natural drainage (for the most part) and has always seemed like fairly clean water to me over the decades of getting in it. Most people are comfortable with their kids in the water. Sewage in our county should always be going through waste water treatment plants. Check it out for yourself - it's a beautiful place with white sandy beach sections, shade, and cool water!
