My family spent an hour between reading the exhibits, playing in the activity area and visiting the gift shop.

My kids are toddlers, so we spent about 30 or 40 minutes at the museum. We took a quick look at the fossil room and played with the interactive exhibits.
It's very small, one room with the fossils, one where they have a sand pit for kids to dig up fossils, and a basement with other kids activites (like coloring pages) and a lab. So maybe an hour or two.
