Whitetail deer belong to the people of Texas, so if you want to eat it, you have to get a hunting license & find a place to go get it yourself, only during certain alloted dates (hunting season). This is the precise reason I started hunting 16 years ago. However exotic animals, like Axis deer & wild hogs (which taste delicious) are considered invasive species and can be hunted year around. You can also legally buy their meat. Im not sure about wild hog meat, but I have seen places to order Axis meat online. It's very expensive, but worth it, but then so too is the meat you get from hunting, when you factor all of your costs in. Hope this info helps & clarifies. For further details & info, I recommend you contact TPWD directly...
Hi George, Doug Key is correct. We are not able to sell wild game meat. Take Care!
They can't sell deer its illegal. All they can do is process for the person with the tagged animal
