Our group brought a newborn. Younger kids may not be much help, and may slow you down. If that doesn't bother you, go for it.

There is a scenario. It usually involves something death, or prison, related. Your group goes into the room and attempts to use the objects and solve puzzles to stop the bad thing from happening. Most scenarios have a 1 hour timer. Every one I have been in does not actually lock you in, but there is a closed door and you enter a final code when you have solved that stops time and "opens the door". Usually alot of logic and code work is involved. They have a game master that will watch over you and you can ask for hints, or they will give you little hints if you seem pretty off track. Escape rooms have kinda become our family bday thing. We enjoy them. Yep we are nerds like that.
