I don't know the exact reason, but it could be that they do not have an exhibit set up for them. It could also be the fact that a single pygmy hippo is around $100,000. Or it may just be something in the works. I would guess it's a combination of all of those things.

Excuse me. Why can't the zoo guests touch the rhinos there?
It might be too difficult for the hippos climate-wise. They enjoy wet grasslands which would be difficult to execute in Arizona.
