Hi so i need to renew my sons passport but the old one is lost.. Can I still renew it or I need to do it as a new one? Also for a new passport do I need the SSN?? Like can I do it with just the number or I need the little paper ? Thank you

You will need to do a new application, a lost form ds 86, and the ssn written on the application

If I'm not mistaken you will report your son's passport lost and get a replacement passport, and for anyone to obtain a passport you have to put a SS# on your application. I'm not sure if you're going to need proof of your SSN.
