This is one of the best communities around here. Well managed and financially secure. Like in any large communities there will be occasional problems but overall it is a great community.
My last tenants had kids their age. East Stroudsburg Uni is a good state school and there is employment opportunity. I personally believe the gang comments are people being racist but drug activity is everywhere and it is a huge community. It is a lot of driving to get around to work and stores. That was an adjustment for me. I am also a believer in watching a house you want to buy at different times, especially night, to verify you don't have crazy neighbours.
I havent experienced anything remotely similar to that, i have my vacation home there. I heard that there were problems years ago hope this helps. Not sure of the schools
