How do we change the receiving account for my mother's Social Security check? Same bank, but she now has a separate account due to Dad's eligibility for Medicaid.

Contact Social Security administration and let them know you are changing accounts and give them the info,,same bank,,changing old acct # to new account #. They SSA needs to update there system first. Ssa will give you the time frame that the check will go into the neew acct. Just for your info,, I changed states and bank when doing so this is how I handled it,, I personally went into the office.Hope this helps you!!!!

She has a separate bank account of the same bank? You might want to go to the bank first and see what they can help you with.
