I have a flight that is leaving at 3:40 pm and my transportation needs to drop me off in the morning that day. How soon can I go through security based on that departure time?

Getting through security takes an hour to get through at the most, which doesn't happen very often. The security usually takes 10 to 20 minutes on average. I would recommend getting to the airport 2 hours before your flight leaves, so around 1:30, just in case.
