The cashiers start out at $11 an hour. I wouldn't say that is the worst. It is because customers do not complain to the right people. Ask to speak to a manager and bring it to their attention. If they get away with it they will continue to do it. I've worked for Walmart for 15 years and I am a supervisor. I would not tolerate that with my people.

A Walmart cashier refused to put my groceries in my cart saying “ that is not my job” . (Young girl with an ugly attitude) And told me in my face for me to put it in my cart myself. I did called manager who listened to my complaint and got my stuff in the cart . Kinda to “just shut up and leave” action. When I was In Retail business , we were always trained to “The customer is always right” and it was our foundation.
Regardless of the pay the question was not fully answerd. There is no need to be rude to customers because remember that if there were no customers these lazy employees would not have a job.
I do not think they are concerned about bagging groceries...they are getting more and more self checkout lanes...younger people do work there also I noticed...older are in management..
There is no need for rudeness,but Wal-Mart's not putting the bags in your cart has always been part of why you get some savings....
