That didn’t happen. Her stacks and radio equipment are still there, where they have always been. Islands are on carriers, not battleships, and North Carolina has not had her above-deck features significantly altered since WWII.

Very nice loved it and the gift shop you cam go crazy in there .. really enjoyed it .. love to go back

I've tried doing a little research on this and I'm not able to find any information. The ship was slated to be scraped in the 50's so it is possible that it happened then... This is pure speculation though.
