I don't think its on a generator. That would probably be too costly. Once in dry dock, I believe they hook up to the local power.

It is powered by shore power. But interesting enough it still smells of fuel oil on the ship like it was in service. Very much adds to the experience.

No, it's powered by electricity. There where no motors or generators running when we where done on the lower decks.
