One of the two turrets on the front of the ship have had parts removed but was far from being stripped totally. Two turrets are open to the public, the other one you can peek inside through the hatch which is not totally shut.

I was just there and the turret was not stripped down. I know it is inoperable but not stripped.

No it isn't. Or wasn't when I was there in February of this year. The north Carolina is fine. Being dry docked soon for much needed repairs is all I heard about. She's an old sea vessel

No, the Carolina has all the controls. You can go up into the turret. Pretty cool.
