They were added to protect the sculptures so they can be enjoyed for many years. Some are obviously to protect people who could be hurt by a fall.
It's for the protection of the sculptures, as well as the guests. Did you see the recent news footage of the 5 year old child running through a museum on Overland Park, KS. Security cameras show him hanging on to a wire frame sculpture, the thing tips forward on to the child. The kid is crying & thankfully by no means is he hurt. The parents are "shocked" when they receive a bill from the museum for $132,000 for the damages. Some folks need reminding and guidance so that's why there are signs.
They've been up for at least a year and I assume because it's art and not a jungle gym. A lot of the sculptures are really dangerous to climb on.
I have always seen them there. I agree with Christina, probably so the sculptures don't get ruined and other people can enjoy them and so people don't get hurt.
Not sure, it was there when I was there.
Not sure , probably so the sculptures dont get ruined,or people don't get hurt.
Always been there except for the few interactive displays that are meant to be climbed upon
I've always seen them in the past year and half I've been there. I always wonder why a sign is ever put up at any place and thr backstory to it. Some interesting incidents might have occurred.
At least 2 years ago.
