You pay the adoption fee right after you choose the dog you want, his health is checked and then you take him right home. Entire adoption process can take from about 30 mins to over an hour if there are lots of adoptions taking place.

It should be on that day, as long as all the paper work gets filled out and you pay everything. You should able to leave with your pet that same day. Adoption fee is paid after all the paperwork.
