You should be able to, its best if you call them and ask

There shouldn't be any reason you can't. Call them and ask. They regularly have an extremely low cost day for cats over 6 months, which are much harder to home. Just $12 I think, for the rabies tag. After an initial getting to know each other period, *but you have to do it right*, most animals are happier having a companion. The experience someone else described is not so common. Ask the HS for their advice. Of course you need to be sure you can afford their care. Enjoy your new friend!

There are obviously many questions to be answered. Hard to name them all. Will they get along, more vet bills, more grooming costs, twice as much marking their territory, and the list goes on....personally had to seperate my two black male cats, in other words called humane society and they came and got him. From his hissing an howling they said I did the right thing. Yet it still hurts today to have done it 17 yrs. ago. Think hard, heightened level of responsibility, an your not getting any younger. Lol.
