Why does it cost so much to adopt a pet? You claim that there's not enough homes for the pets but, that's no so. Ppl want to adopt but, they DON'T have the money you require to adopt. If you remove the price more will be adopted.

Hello Marcelina! The value of services provided to your newly adopted pet greatly outweighs the adoption fee! When you adopt a dog or cat from HSMO, they have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, treated for fleas/ticks, given a microchip, nail trim, ear cleaning, and sometimes, additional surgeries, treatments, and medical procedures - have all been taken care of. Plus, we often have adoption discounts (every Thursday is PURRsday!) and adoption specials throughout the year. It costs more for us to provide all of these services than our adoption fees cover - you're actually getting a great deal! Getting a "free" pet isn't always free! By educating the public on all of the services that are provided to our adoptable animals, we also bring to light the costs associated with pet ownership, and therefore make sure potential pet owners are aware of the costs of keeping their pet healthy throughout their lifetime. Thank you so much for your feedback!

It's because they need money to pay for their buildings and staffs. The cost of running humane society is very expensive. That is the way things are done these days. However, if you donated a lot of money to this humane society then the cost will go down. Simple math.

If you cannot afford the very low adoption fee, how do you plan to take care of a pet?!

People don't take care of what they don't pay for unfortunately. Do you want to adopt and be evaluated for that? Please reach out to me if so.
