I just received a call from what they said was the social security administration saying that my social security number has been suspended due to suspicious activity

Scammers, i gotten the same call also, just dont give them your information or social security number! They sound like them people from over seas with the funny accent, scammers trying to get your information!

These are "SCAM" Calls ! The Real SSA Offices Would NEVER Use this Method. It Would Usually be a Notification Letter, Which You would Follow up in Person at Your Local SSA Office. DON'T FALL FOR IT !
