Erppp....do you think that MAYBE a mental health patient would make a statement like that because they don't want to be there? And MAYBE that mental health patient is creating a situation for sympathy? Have you EVER seen any evidence to support what that mental health patient states? Hm...didn't think so.
My daughter never mentioned any kind of abuse or torture from any staff towards her or any other patients. I think this is a common perception shared by typical patients suffering from mental health issues. On the other hand, it's the actual patients who will become physical towards other patients and staff members. A big problem here is that there are no cameras so confirm any accusations and I think that's a huge liability and disservice to the patients safety.
There is places that are truly abusive physically.
I went to Cedar Crest awhile ago, and the staff there can be kind of violent. My experience there was not okay. I still remember lots of experiences there. The children would throw stuff at each other and curse people out. I remember it got so bad that people would self harm because of this. I honestly dont think you should bring any child of yours to a place where the enviroment is going to make them feel worse then they already do. As for the staff, there weren't many on the hall usually which was pretty bad because they couldn't keep a eye on everyone. The food there was pretty disgusting there honestly, and I remember when I went there people complained about little things about food. Mostly it needed more seasonings or bigger portions or well...better food in general. What I hated most about this place was the showering situation. When I went there, people weren't given face towels or anything to wash themselves with. There are a lot more things though but I don't have enough space
Or maybe it’s the truth. If someone wants help and signs their self in.
