U don't have to strip ur wire .but just look up the price of copper on line the price is in accordance with the stock so it fluctuate. Right copper been steady rounding off to $2 per pd. Sometimes $3 . There's different grades too . But I kno soaking with c&c cola will clean your copper (in a bucket) . If its bigger u might need a rag or brillo with a heavy duty cleaner something wit acid . Degreaser maybe
