Thank You! Just a brief note to the team at our local 10th precinct and a special thanks to one of their team members whose name we believe to be "Dimanche"(Sounded Like Sunday in French?) for his help about a week ago, Friday, May 13, 2022 around 6:10 pm when he helped us on what may seem like a minor item for some, but it was a major help for us on a special family weekend. Timely: We had family arrive to visit for the weekend, and we found taped "No parking" signs all over our street - usually this happens for special events in the block (ie, filming, school meeting, etc), but they will usually have an end time included in them. These signs did not (photo attached). The Unknown: The signs had the day's date written on it, but "no time limit/no parking until ?. On our block after 6PM - my family could park there until their planned departure on Sunday night. The Post-COVID NYC: If you have tried parking in NYC after Covid's large numbers of new car owners and the significantly less parking spots available - you know that our odds would be better at playing the lotto than finding a parking spot on a Friday night in Chelsea. The Problem Solver & Doer!: After asking several local neighbours; about 7 other drivers behind us who were asking the same question we were, and calling 311 - no one had a clue when this "no parking" end time was, but the 311 operator suggested calling the local district, and that is when we called and explained the situation to "Dimanche" - who was on another call, but told us if we could wait a few minutes - he would help us. He had to ask several other team members because no one was sure of the end time, but he kept at it - until he found an answer for us, and that helped to start a family gathering on the right foot. I'm visiting NYC next month as a tourist and called ahead regarding firearms regulations and storage for LEOSA (H.R. 218) card holders. The officer I spoke with was highly professional and helpful, assisting me in finding the resources I needed to ensure I didn't get hemmed up while visiting. Appreciate all that y'all do!

Avoid over generalizing to be “safe” in your rebuttal... and get specific in response because you obviously are not impacted first hand. If you are a police officer than check yourself in reply becUse normal people don’t carry guns at work to “feel safe” at work. People are impacted business are impacted yet police who are “limited” can’t be bothered. “What does community” mean to you? What does “safety” mean to you? What is reality from your perspective? Are you an officer at the 10th? I’d love to know but doubt you will answer. Good day to you “sir”.
