You are only responsible to pay your portion of rent per the lease agreement. Even though the landlord changed you still pay your portion of rent to the new landlord until that lease agreement is up. The new landlord will not receive our portion of your rent until they complete the paperwork required to have them be a landlord in the HCV program. Anytime you are concerend about things like this we do advise you to reach out to your Housing Specialist and they can assist!

I believe you're responsible for your portion. it is not your fault that the new landlord didn't turn it in. if they knew that they were going to be accepting section 8/ housing recipients than they should have did their own work because you don't have anything to do with that you fill out the paperwork and handed to the landlord and they're responsible for handing it to housing staff in a timely manner, so I think that the housing and landlord need to take that up with each other! if you're paying your portion of your rent I'm going to be a problem. IDK though.
