Yes, I agree, wear shoes because of the rocks on the rivers floor. I bought an inexpensive pair of water shoes from Walmart.

Most people will not. I always do! The rocks are pretty smooth.
It's completely your choice. If you want to have your shoes with you, when you get your tube there is a strap that you can use to link to another tube or have your shoes on, which is what I do.
