My husband and my experience has been the opposite. It's a wonderful unique experience every time we go. Different kinds of flowers bloom at different times of year. You can checkout the blooming schedule on their website: https://www.gibbsgardens.com/visit/whats-in-bloom/ Also, to the comment that the gardens aren't taken care of is rubbish. The gardens are very well taken care of. We have visited in mid March, mid May, and the beginning of October. Each time was gorgeous in a different way, but our favorite is always the Japanese garden eventhough the rose garden is fabulous and the mansion is gorgeous, there's nothing quite like Japanese garden. You most not have check out the blooming schedule before attending and must have been expecting flowers that bloom at a different time of year, but never had the garden looked like it wasn't amazingly tended to. You might need to get your eyes checked.
Don't know what you were expecting....I've been there several times over the last two seasons. Something is ALWAYS blooming!! Different times show different aspects of the gardens. Lots of love, time, and effort have been put into making this place what it is. Like life, plants have seasons and those seasons are dictated by the weather. The early spring gives us the millions of jonquils to the summer day lilies and roses to the fall colors from the Japanese maples. AWESOME!! Can't wait until next year and the new gardens near the manor!!
Gardens are well taken care of. You have to go multiple times during the year to get full enjoyment of the place. Gardens are awesome. I find something different to marvel at everytime I go (couple of times a month).
I would agree that's what our experience was.
