I've seen a few do it. I would not recommend it.
Your canoe would most likely get hung up on stair steps. Depends on your canoe bottom design, how well you know the river and your experience level.
How much do you vakue your canoe?
Did it in a lake kayak, stair step is no joke! Don't do it. Always listen to Mr. Webb's advice he knows what he's talking about.
