For initial assessment & plan of treatment if positively need treatment, absolutely initiate in NYC THEN follow up in closest satellite, Sloan MDS USUALLY are very helpful.
Many of the doctors have offices in both the main hospital and their satellite locations. The rigor and equipment that exists at the main hospital should be the same at the satellites.
I agree do your research, but NYC is the central hub and there are more resources at their disposal for any occurrence or eventuality. Also note that they do pull doctors from other area hospitals not all doctors at MSK are based out of that hospital.
IMO, I think it's best for you to do your research. NYC doesn't mean they necessarily have the best doctors but usually you can find pretty good doctors in NYC. But do your research.
