Are there alligators in the river and the canals leading into the neighborhoods? Wondering about safety for small dog and paddleboarding. Thanks.

I didnt see any gators. Lots of campers with dogs- keep on leash- no problems. Very nice campground. No nothing about paddleboarding.

Yes there are alligators in pretty much all the waters in swfl.. it's very rare to hear of attacs but they do happen, usually to those that feed and go near them.

I worked there 3 yrs. As a host A few gators but we had people who put there boards in and paddled all around.

We can't they're often with two small dogs and I've never seen any alligators in the canal. However park rules require the dogs be on leashes so they should be perfectly safe. Hope this helps.
